Day off in Springfield, and then Tailwinds, 2213 miles to go

Today we finally had our tailwinds.  What a difference a day makes.  Ahem, a life lesson. As we cycled along rural bike paths, we saw iconic items along Route 66, we remembered why we loved to cycle.  We were joyous, happy and free on our bikes today.  The pedals went around easily and the miles clicked off with ease.  We carried on conversations all day long because we could hear each other without the headwinds blowing in our faces.  At the end of the day we found the oldest continuous serving restaurant along Route 66 and had fabulous cheesecake.  We are onward to St Louis, tomorrow.

  1. Glad you finally got tailwinds and an enjoyable, easier day to visit and peddle. You described your pleasant afternoon so poetically.
